Tony Chen, Managing Director

I’m Tony Chen, Managing Director of Launch Your Movement. I specialize in helping businesses create and capture movements through the power of social media & business development.
After a 4-year tenure at a Fortune 50 company and completing an MBA in marketing from the Kellogg School of Management (Northwestern University), I directed the launches of new businesses and product lines for 2 companies. In my spare time, I became intrigued by social media in 2005 and started a blog called Hospital Impact that discussed health care innovation and leadership. As I attempted to provide pithy analysis and recruited 3 hospital CEOs to blog alongside me, the blog started to take off and was eventually acquired by a publishing company in 2008. In many ways, the blog represented a movement of progressive, innovation-oriented leaders in health care.
Then, my world was rocked when I became a dad for the first time in 2006. When I looked online for tips and perspectives for new dads, all I could find were breastfeeding articles. No thanks. So, I started a social movement called Savvy Daddy (web | facebook | twitter) specifically for new dads whose kids rock their worlds. Our facebook page is now the largest online network of dads on facebook, with over 7,500+ dads interacting with one another all throughout the week.
In June 2009, I left my day job as a business development director to launch my own movement. Lots of people started asking me to help them with their social media strategies. I found myself trying to explain what twitter was to an interesting mix of people – from an eggroll company owner to a $50 million consulting company CEO to a small construction company owner to a software CTO.

Amy Filbin, Designer
Hello, I’m Amy Filbin. I’m an entrepreneur, philanthropist, and designer. I specialize in helping companies translate complex ideas into understandable concepts by using design as a medium. Also, I use design in all walks of my life, from building the identity of my shoe business, to inspiring volunteers and financial donors to help those less fortunate then themselves. I began designing as a production associate at MSDN Magazine in 1999. From 2001 to 2009, I expanded my role at Microsoft to include user-interface design of the website, creation and launch of TechNet Magazine, and cover to cover page design for both publications as Art and Production Manager. In addition, I also designed marketing and publicity materials for non-profit organizations such as Murray Spalding Mandalas, 1houseatatime, and the Harvey-Milk Highschool.
